Testo Australia
Inspiring innovation via diversity

Testo Australia’s history began in 1989 as Testo Sense, when a local agent partnership was formed between Testo AG and Sense Measurements in Melbourne. Gerd Knospe was instrumental in setting up this partnership.

It wasn’t until 2000, when testo AG acquired Testo Sense, that Testo Pty Ltd was established. The newly formed subsidiary wasn’t without its early challenges. The company consisted of a small team of four women operating out of an office in Bayswater, Victoria with an initial goal of understanding how testo could find a niche in Australia. This was compounded by the fact that the team didn’t have an adequate marketing budget or aprofessional sales team to help them. By taking these obstacles in their stride and working together, Testo Australia’s small group of employees were able to turn the company into a success.

It quickly established itself as a leading supplier of temperature monitoring technology through hard-earned partnerships with some of the largest supermarket and fast food chains inthe country. Testo Australia’s range of state-of-the-art thermometers and data loggers would become the industry benchmark as innovative and reliable tools. It helped grow the company into what it is today; a dedicated team of 18 individuals (in 2020) hailing from multiple different countries operating out of the head office in Croydon South, Victoria.

Through teamwork, collaboration and combined years of experience working at Testo, the company has been able to successfully gain market share and improve brand recognition in the HVAC&R, hospitals, hospitality, science, emissions and IAQ sectors. Testo Australia has established itself as an industry leader among many large organisations. The brand recognition has also been carried to local universities and TAFE Colleges the company partnered with, to invest in the future workforce by sponsoring ‘Apprentice of the Year’ award given to the top skilled HVAC&R student in all TAFE Colleges. Testo is also been supporting Swinburne University’s Formula SAE electric vehicle team with vital instruments.

Always holding a forward looking stance, the company is now investing in its Solutions business servicing various markets with its testo Saveris for Life Science, for Retail and Restaurant innovative automated monitoring portfolio.

The success we have experienced over the years with our diverse, agile and highly skilled organisation will be an asset moving forward given the rapid growth of IoT and the launch of state-of-the-art products from our parent compant Testo SE & Co. KGaA.

Through effective tools, teamwork and channel partners, we believe we are well positioned to provide the right solution that will benefit our clients and make a positive impact on their business. We also believe that through continued learning, adapting to new ways of doing business and investing in staff through training, social activities and recognition of achievements, Testo will continue to be a resilient company able to weather any storms - be it a global pandemic, economic recession or other challenging times.

We acknowledge the Team at Testo SE & Co. KGaA for their ongoing backing during our early start up years as well as during the past 20 years as Testo Pty Ltd. It would not have been possible to progress the company to what it is today, without the faith and support provided by theKnospe Family and particular Burkart Knospe.
